submitted by Airoso1 to pathofdiablo [link] [comments] He who walks with death never stands alone. Guide written by Airoso @ PoD. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Introduction and Considerations about the Guide. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey good people on Reddit. My name's Airoso, and this is my 19th year playing D2. I've been a somewhat known PvP'er in EU Realm for some years (Some of you might know me as Ani, shoutout to EU-PVP and WeP). 2 Years ago i found this wonderful mod and community, and since then, i've been hooked. I'm always on the lookout for new info and gladly accept feedback and suggestions. This is not the first Curse Necromancer guide, but i bring you some different approaches. Those tweaks will make your mapping experience much easier and faster. They will also make you a darling in group maps. Believe me, other players will love you, as you'll make everyone play on easy mode. So, if you're a new player, but you also want to map with high level parties and you want to actually contribute and make a difference, this is for you. The choices in gear, setups and playstyle that i suggest here are just that; suggestions. What i prefer might no be your cup of tea, but give it a try, if you feel so inclined. This build is not expensive. I'll be approaching two very distinct build and play styles; The MeatWall Style and the Corpse Explosion Style. Also, i'll be writting a budget guide, as this is a very affordable build to start with. You'll also find an Hardcore Section, for those that like to live on the edge. Ok gentlemen, i hope you're ready! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- What are the basics of Hemorrhage? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hemorrhage is a skill from the curse tree. It has a fixed range of 7.3 yards and it deals pure damage per second. What this means is that this damage cannot be reduced or resisted. Also, this skill allows you to have another curse on top, since it doesn't override previous curses. As you can see, this allows for a very safe and effective build. The main boost to Hemorrhage comes from +Skills. This should be your priority. Homorrhage (from now on Hemo) scales in a curious fashion. After you reach about 8k DPS (Damage Per Second), each subsequent +Skill scales it a little bit more (you'll jump in 300 dmg increases at a time). Personally, i like to run 75% FCR (Faster Cast Rate). Your curses just pop faster like that, and to me, it just feels wrong not to. Also your BIS (Best In Slot) items will get you there. This is by no means necessary. It's good to have. The exception is if you go the Corpse Explosion route (CE). Here we aim for 75% FCR. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Index. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.) Viability 2.) Gear Choices
4.) Inventory Setup 5.) Skill and Stat Allocation (With brief explanation)
7.) Where do I farm? 8.) Playstyle Considerations 9.) Closing --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.) Viability. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Can I level as this build?: Yes, easily. Early Ladder Viable: Yes, it's great early ladder. It was my ladder starter. End Game Viable: Yes. Hardcore Viable: Yes. Very safe build with the MeatWall Style. Uber Trist Viable: I don't believe so. Brilliant support class. But soloing would be very hard, since the life regen on the Prime Evils is very high. Uber Diablo Clone Viable: I never tried it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.) Gear Choices (The good stuff). --------------------------------------------------------------------------- This primer will be divided in three options: Budget, End-Game and Hardcore. By the end of this guide you should get; https://preview.redd.it/gd3crce7c3t51.jpg?width=852&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=849e705f7266ecd80e4fe905ebe546a70c55dec1 1400-2000 Life - Depends on how much you invest in your Charms and Jewelry. Since Necromancer gets only 2 life for each Vitality point, don't expect to have a ton of life. 75% FCR - This is optional. I like to have it. I makes playing feel smoother. Mandatory in CE build. 39% FHR - Optional, but consider that you'll be almost always Decrepified, Lower Resisted or Amped. Also, you don't really have that much life, defense, and you don't max block. True, you will will be hit very few times if you play right, but still. Each time your character takes at least 1/12th of his life total in damage, he will enter a stun animation. Higher FHR makes that animation last fewer frames. A lot of double teles, etc, can be atribbuted to low FHR. Me, i don't like to stay for long in bad situations. What about you? 10k Hemo Damage - depending on your choice of Charms. High range and damage Corpse Explosion. Around 350% MF - depending on your gear choices. Maxed out resistances, pretty easily. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Items - Budget. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Helmet: You can use a +3 Curse Circlet. That's all it takes, to be honest. Upgrade to an Harlequin Crest Shako when you can. Chest: 2 Options here. At the start of ladder, use a Skin of the Vipermagi. As you progress, you can use Bone Runeword. Bone has a very interesting feature. It has a chance to cast Terror when you're struck. This actually gives you plenty of room to breathe. As you progress, you can upgrade to a Socketed Viper for the MF, or stick to Bone. It's perfectly viable all the way to red maps. Shield: Homunculus), Lidless Wall) or Rhyme Runeword in a good Necromancer Head. Homunculus is usually dirt cheap. This should be one of your priority items to get. It will take you to the next level. Lidless Wall is pennies, but wayy inferior. Rhyme will actually prove very useful. You'll be running with this on switch for the MF. Weapon: Blackhand Key). The little wand that could. This is essentially HOTO light for you. It will carry you a long way. Belt: So many options, so many feels. Honestly, you could use whatever. I like Tal Rasha's Belt or a nice Crafted Belt until i get an Arachnid Mesh. Boots: Here, you can use various options. Starting out, Cow King's Hooves are excellent for the FRW (Faster Run Walk) and the MF. Silkweaves are great, since this build needs mana. Other fine option would be Aldur's Advance boots. Gloves: Trang-Oul's Claws. These are always cheap. Also, these are your End-Game gloves. Just godly for this build. Amulet: +3 Curses amulet. Thats it. You have the skills. Anything on top of that, is gravy. Ring 1: Nagelring), to help you get rich faster. Use whatever you like here. Ring 2: Nagelring), to help you get rich faster. Use whatever you like here. Weapon 2: Blade of Ali-Baba. You'll have plenty of time to switch weapons on boss kills. Take advantage of it. Shield 2: Rhyme Runeword. You just want more MF don't you, ya greedy bastard? Pay attention; as a Budget Hemo Boi, you'll play the MeatWall build. It's just smoother and you don't really have the mana sustain necessary to spam CE. Also, your bois will keep your ass out of trouble. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Items - End-Game. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Helmet: Harlequin Crest Shako). Corrupted for 2 Sockets. This gives us everything that we need. Put 2 Perfect Topazes in it for that sweet MF. Chest: Enigma Runeword. Make it in a low strenght armor. I like Light Plate. This frees up lots of skill points from Convocation, and makes the CE Hybrid possible. Gives us everything we want, really. Massive Strenght, Max Life, Dagame Reduced, MF and lots of FRW. Shield: Homunculus). Corrupted for 2 Sockets. You max out your resistances here. Socket as needed. 2 Perfect Diamonds usually do the trick. Weapon: Heart of the Oak Runeword. No need to explain this. Just an incredible weapon for any class that casts stuff. Belt: Arachnid Mesh. Not a single wasted stat. +1 Skill? Check. 20% FCR? Yes, please. 5% Max Mana? Don't mind if i do. Boots: War Traveller for the MF or if you're having mana issues, go for Silkweave. Skill Cooldown corruptions are a little useless here, so go for +fire resistance. Gloves: Trang-Oul's Claws. Just godly for this build. Corrupt these for all resists. Amulet: 2 options; You can go for Mara's Kaleidoskope), corrupted for +1 Skill or for a godly +3 Curses/ Life or MF corrupted for +1 Skill. I use the later. Ring 1: Stone of Jordan). Corrupted for 6% PDR or 10% FRW. I've tested both and in Softcore i prefer 10% FRW. You could rock Bul-Khatos, but as i've said, this guy is thirsty for the blue juice, so SOJ makes a difference. Ring 2: This is a flex spot. You can't go wrong with a Wisp Projector, Another SOJ), Bul-Khatos, etc. I'm using a Nagelring) corrupted for 10% FRW. Weapon 2: We can use Call to Arms Runeword or Blade of Ali-Baba. Me, while you were casting Battle Orders, i studied the blade. CTA adds little to this build, in my opinion. You'll have plenty of time to switch weapons on boss kills. Take advantage of it. Shield 2: Rhyme Runeword or Medusa's Gaze. Again, i prefer the MF setup. If you feel that Shiver Armour will make a difference, go for it. If you can afford Enigma, you can play the Hemo/ CE Hybrid. You'll definitely see differences in clearspeed. You lose some cushiness, but not a lot. Again, it's a matter of preference. I'm playing this at the moment. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Items - Hardcore Theorycraft. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Helmet: Harlequin Crest Shako). Corrupted for 2 Sockets. This gives us everything that we need. Socket it with 2 Bers. 26% PDR is nothing to laugh at. Chest: Guardian Angel. Don't laugh yet, hear me out. You'll lose around 500 DPS. You'll gain 20% Chance to Block, 7% to all Maximum Resists, 15% to all resistances and 3 open sockets to play with. That is really a lot of defensive stats and we're going Max Block with Homunculus. You can socket this with Life/Resist jewels or Ber's for PDR. We don't upgrade it, as it would be too heavy for us. Shield: Homunculus). Corrupted for 10% Block. You max out your resistances here. Socket as needed. Weapon: Heart of the Oak Runeword. No need to explain this. Just an incredible weapon for any class that casts stuff. It even has +10 to Dexterity, to help us reach Max Block. Belt: Thundergod's Vigor). Lightning absorb, lots of Strength and some Life. If you ever plan on attempting doing Ubbers, rock this. Also, makes running Worldstone Keep super safe. Boots: You´ve got 2 choices. Waterwalk or Cow-King's Hooves. Corrupt these for +10 Dexterity. Waterwalk is clearly the safer bet, since it gives you tons of life and +Max Fire resist. Gloves: Trang-Oul's Claws. Just godly for this build. Corrupt these for +all resists. Amulet: 2 options; You can go for Mara's Kaleidoskope), corrupted for +1 Skill or for a godly +3 Curses/+ 25-30 Strength corrupted for +1 Skill.I'd use the second option, as you'll have plenty of resists and your gear requires more strength now. Ring 1: Stone of Jordan). Corrupted for 6% PDR. You could rock Bul-Khatos, but as i've said, this guy is thirsty for the blue juice, so SOJ makes a difference. Ring 2: This is a flex spot. You can't go wrong with a Wisp Projector, Another SOJ), Bul-Khatos, etc.Corrupt it for 6% PDR. If you're not strapped for absorb, the best option would be a godly stat ring, with lots of Strength, Dexterity and life. Corrupted for 20% FCR. (Remember, since this is a MeatWall build, we don't really need the 75% FCR). Weapon 2: Call to Arms Runeword. This is Hardcore baby, and i want to live. Shield 2: Medusa's Gaze. Every little thing counts to see another day. Since we're not using Enigma, and we're playing Hardcore, we play the MeatWall Build. You need to stat Convocation to a level that you feel confortable. Me, i'm ok with 5 seconds. I'd err on the side of more revives. This is a simple exercise in theorycrafting, i've never played HC with this build. Just added it to give you guys some ideas. Maybe one of you can solo Ubbers with it ;) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mercenary. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- We rock an Act 2 Combat Merc. He'll grant us the gift of Prayer, which, in tandem with your Blood Golem, will have noticeable effects on you and your minions health. It will basically negate the efects of poison. Keep in mind that the merc's aura maxes out at lvl. 18, replenishing 20 life points per second, in addition to 1% of the target maximum life. Weapon: Insight Runeword. There is an argument to be made for Infinity Runeword on a CE build. After testing, i preferred Insight, because you really need that mana regen. Also, the investment for a new player doesn't justify it. If you go for the MeatWall build, there's no reason to use anything other than this. Make it in a fast base, as we'll be trying to get 75% IAS (Increased Attack Speed) on our Boi, to reach that 10 frames breakpoint. Such good bases are Thresher, Giant Thresher, Great Poleaxe (Base 0) and the Spears of corresponding speed. Chest: Treachery Runeword. Old faithful, cheap and steady. There are other viable options here. You can also go for Fortitude Runeword or even a 4 sox Shaftstop with IAS/Resist Jewels. In my opinion there is no need for this. Treachery gives you another 45% IAS, making you hit your Merc Attack Speed cap, wich in this case is 75% IAS. Add Fade to the equation and we have a winner. Again, we're not looking for killing power from the merc, we want him to hit fast and consistent, so he can leech. Don't worry too much about your merc staying alive. With the other summons and curse support, he'll only die very ocasionally to some bosses. Helm: Steel Shade. Corrupt this for 2 sox. 1 Meele Splash Jewel and a Cham Rune. Try to get one with high * Life Replenish, as this will act as a mini Prayer Aura for your merc. We use Cham so that our Boi keeps hitting fast. As i stated before, because of our other summons and the aura that Blood Golem grants, the merc will have no problem staying alive. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5.) Inventory. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Annihillus - Self Explanatory. Prioritize Stats over resists. Hellfire Torch - Again, the obvious. Prioritize Stats over Resists. Gheed's Fortune - You can use this to add a little bit more %MF. I like to play around with 300% MF + , so if you're in my camp, go for it. Necromancer Curse Skillers - Get these with life or +6 Dexterity. If you choose to go the 39% FHR route, get 3 of these with 12% FHR. Small Charms with Magic Find and Resists or Life and Resists - Use this as needed to hit your caps. Personally, i use MF ones. One of these Charms has to have 5% FHR, if you want to hit 39%. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5.) Skill Allocation - MeatWall Style. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hemorrhage - 20 Points. This is your bread and butter. Iron Maiden - 20 Points. Synergy to Hemo. Also, this is your physical boss killer. Works wonders on Baal's wave 5, Diablo, Duriel and Root of All Evil map boss. This might be excellent vs. Uber Duriel and Uber Izual. Weaken - 20 Points. Synergy to Hemo. Life Tap - 20 Points. Synergy to Hemo. Might be useful in group situations, but let's be honest, you'll never use this. Revive - 9 Points. Your bois are back. I just like to have 7 of them. It works with less, but this makes it really hard for enemies to hit you. with 9 hard points you reach 7 of them, with incredible tankyness. They just won die. Blood Golem - 1 Point Wonder. That's all it takes. It will save your ass sometimes, help your bois stick around and tank for you. Take this guy on a date, will ya? Skeleton Warrior - 1 Point. Altough it's a prerequisite, they actually tank shit. You'll get around 7 of them with the proposed end gear. Skeleton Mage - 1 Point. Ditto. They die faster, but they are still usefull. Also, you get 7 of them. See what i did there? Lucky Sevens, baby. Summon Mastery - Dump the rest here. It will make you guys tanky. They might even kill something, who knows? Convocation - If you use Enigma, you don't stat this. Otherwise, try to get it to a confortable casting delay. I'll leave it up to you. As you can guess, this is a very safe play style. I reccomend this skill setup for new characters and for Hardcore players. This is an excellent ladder starter. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5.) Skill Allocation - Hemo/ CE Style. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hemorrhage - 20 Points. This is your bread and butter. Corpse Explosion - 1-20 Points. If you want more speed, lean towards CE, if you want a little bit more safety, lean towards Summon Mastery. CE really improves your mapping speed. At the moment i use 17 Hard Points into it. Revive - 1 Point. You'll get 5 Revives this time. They are still pretty tanky. The nice thing is that you can play around with ratios. You don't really need to max CE, so if you want to invest a little more here or there, you can. Bone Armor - Since we have it, might as well use it. Reapply as per the doctor's reccomendation. Convocation - Zero. We use Enigma. This is a play style better suited for maps, etc. You can use this in HC and it will still be pretty safe. This is what i'm playing now. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stat Allocation. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Strength: Enough for your gear. If using Enigma, that should be 0. Dexterity: Enough for Max Block if you are going that route. For Softcore, niente, zero. Vitality: You dump your points here. The more, the better. Energy: If you're starting, you might want to put some points here. Endgame, zero. Note: Your character requires more dexterity to reach 75% block each time he levels so be sure to double check your block % every time you level up. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7.) Necromancer FHR and FCR Breakpoints. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Necromancer Faster Hit Recovery Frames 0% - 13 Frames 5% - 12 Frames 10% - 11 Frames 16% - 10 Frames 26% - 9 Frames 39% - 8 Frames <- This 56% - 7 Frames 86% - 6 Frames 152% - 5 Frames Lets face it, guys. Our FHR Breakpoints suck. Still, we can shave 4 frames of animation for a low investment. Necromancer Faster Cast Rate Breakpoints 0% - 15 Frames 9% - 14 Frames 18% - 13 Frames 30% - 12 Frames 48% - 11 Frames 75% - 10 Frames <- This 125% - 9 Frames Hemo has a very peculiar playstyle. Because the curse keeps acting over a period of time, and we don't spam Teleport, FCR is not crucial, and you'll get a confortable breakpoint from your gear. With Hoto, Trang Gloves and Arach you hit 80% FCR, wich is plenty. If you play the CE version, 75% FCR is really nice to have. You'd only really get lower than 75% with the Hardcore theorycraft section, and you can compensate with jewelry. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8.) Where do I farm? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anywhere you'd like. This guy has no problem with any content, so go ahead. To help out new players, or the less wealthy ones, i'll reccomend some places: Frigid Highlands and Pindleskin - Just basic stuff. Travincal - This is a good Travincal farmer. Lower Kurast - You can run this for runes. Make sure to pop every chest. Chaos Sanctuary - This is your home turf. It's an excellent CS Farmer. Act 1 Pits - Easy peasy. Area lvl 85. Worldstone Keep - Good monster density and you'll have no problems. Baal - Takes some time, but Decrepify renders him useless. You can farm for Baal Essence. Secret Cow Level - Actually, it's pretty fast. With CE, it's very fast. Maps - Any map. But Icy Caverns, Forgoten Temple, Burnt Forest and Dim Cellar are the tits for this guy. You want tightly packed mobs. With CE it's a breeze. Not that slow without, either. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9.) Considerations about Playstyle --------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you're new to Hemo Necromancer, you'll feel some weirdness at first. To be really fast, you have to get used to cast your Curses, keep moving and check for the drops on the way back. In players 1, all mobs except super unique bosses will die in 1 cast. Just keep truckin, cast your stuff and pick it up on the way down. Don't stand around waiting for shit to happen. Cool guys don't look at explosions ;) They say that beggars can't be choosers, but i beg to differ. If you can get good revives, do so. Blunderbores, Venom Lords, Death Lords, these are all great mobs to have. You'll have to recast once in a while, because of the timer, so keep that in mind wen using CE. Your Skeletons will die pretty often. For me, it's a non issue i just recast them, but some people might find this annoying. Use your teles strategically. Don't let your minions wander too far from you. Whn you tele next to a mob, you have 2 options. You can give a slight step back or you can stand perfectly still. You'll be what's called "minion stacked". The problem with this is that your merc takes the first hit, so he'll die fast. If you want to play safe and technically sound, always lead into a room with decrepify. You'll have a massive radius, so several screens will be slowed down. Also remember, Decrepify works well with CE. It will augment your damage by 50%. To start each run, just enter Anya's Portal and raise your mobs there. They're conveniently dead for you to use. (You don't need to do this, but still). We don't run Desecrate. Why? No need. You can actually kill stuff, and pretty fast too. CE and Hemo work in tandem. If you like to play with your friends, this is a great Support character. It brings the best out of other builds. This is a great character to level with. It grows with you, and you can use it at every stage of the game. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9.) Closing --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Whew, now this was long! If you're still here, pop open a cold one and drink it up man, you've earned it! With this guide, i've tried to approach several ways to play this very cool character. I think Curse Necro is still very under-appreciated, and it was deserving of a good primer. Also, i try to make my writting light and (hopefully) funny. I know it's a lot to read, so i thank you for your patience. I'd like to thank GreenDude, he made a fantastic Mod to a legendary game. D2 was great, PoD brought a second life to it. I'm forever grateful, for this is the game of my life. Some of my fondest memories involve this game. I'd like to thank all the PoD community. You guys rock. The spirit is strong, let's keep it like this. This is my second guide here, and English is not my language, so you'll excuse my sometimes shitty English. Trying to do the best i can. I hope you guys appreciate the work i've put into this :) That's it mates. Obrigado! |

But how do I make sure I get this build and still be able to get achievements?Get the merchandise category blueprint from the graveyard. I believe you need 20 items total unlocked for achievements. Make a custom mode run and disable everything, then unlock only the 3 items we want and all the shields (if you have free spots at the end, disable the non-survival only shields). That should be around 10 depending on how much stuff you have unlocked. Then just unlock melee weapons you are comfortable with and deployed traps until you have 20. This will ensure that when you select "ranged" in the shop you will always get to pick a heavy crossbow, that when you pick "grenades" you only get the powerful grenade, and when you select "misc skills" you will only get the tonic.
But I have very low HP.That doesn't matter. If you kill your enemies before they can touch you you don't have to worry about HP. When you start taking off 15% of timekeeper's HP in one shot, you will understand. Whenever I end up very much screwed over due to scroll distribution and have a more "balanced" build I always get fucked up bad, whereas with max damage you can ignore most of the mechanics because the boss will be dead in 10 seconds anyway. And you're rolling survival anyway, you have a lot of HP baseline.
RTP percentages range between 80%-99% for many slot machines, but your best bet is any RTP percentage over 96%. Then, see if it’s a penny slot (0.01), nickel (0.05), or dime (0.10) because your stakes will need to match this. These are the smallest coin sizes for each casino game. You could never bet just a penny on that “penny slot” game. The maximum bet was $1 per payline. This was a sneaky way of getting the players to lay down more money. If you hit “Max Bet” on that machine, it took $25 in credits from your balance. If you played that same $2 bet on a Double Diamond machine, on the other hand, triple bars, double bars with a Double Diamond symbol, and single bars with two Double Diamond symbols all pay 40 times your bet or more. I don't have any records to back it up, but it seems like I was able to win back losses or show a profit more often on single-payline machines than on today's video slots. For example a 20 line slot with the option to bet 10 coins per line has a 200 coin max bet. Even at the penny coin size this turns into $2 a spin. In most cases you will be fine with just one coin per line and can therefore play for as little as 20 a spin. There is a minor catch - your jackpots won't be as big. If you max bet on a penny machine, does your payout improve? STATUS: Mixed. Payback percentage is traditionally set per denomination, but there are plenty of games that require a max bet to unlock all pays, which improves your payback percentage. When it comes to the actual payback configuration of a slot, the traditional configuration of payback is based on game and denomination: If a game is ... To sum up, I think betting the lowest bet possible on each spin on a machine won't be exciting enough for most players and their bankrolls can support a larger bet. Betting the maximum on each spin, on the other hand, is too risky and expensive. I recommend you play one coin per line and vary the number of coins you bet per line depending upon how well you're doing. If the machine offers an additional bet, make it only if you're doing well. Penny slots max bet – find out the average amount first. The slots of the popular online casinos have one of the best payout statistics, which is why players are most often pleased with cash prizes. For this reason these slot machines can and should be played a lot. Average max bet on penny slots . When talking about the chances of making a penny slots max bet or a loss in a casino, usually ... The odds don't change based on your bet in either direction. You don't have to bet max on most games but the game doesn't magically become worse if you bet max. If your ambition is to win the top payout amount on the game, you should bet max. http://robison.casinocitytimes.com/article/rng-coins-played-and-long-term-paybacks-43824 What Should You Really Bet On Penny Slots, free casino slots apps, genting casino 75percent up to gbp100, 20 free spins bonus code for club gold casino 38 Thus, with a total number of 25 paylines, you have to bet 2.50 dollars. Contrary to this method, if you choose to go with a maximum bet, it will deduct around 25 dollars. Thus, the penny slots are a great method to reduce your total credits.
